Project Reg. No.: CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/17_205/0015506
Project implementation date: 1.2. – 31.5.2019
Total project costs: 390 000,- CZK
Grant provided: 292 500,- CZK
The main objective of the project will be to analyse the current state of the material cutting process with regard to the achieved cut quality and the economics of the process. Two progressive technologies have been selected for the research, namely laser cutting and high-pressure waterjet cutting. The aim of the project will be to efficiently design or improve the cutting process parameters that will have a pivotal effect on the quality of the cut sample, which will be beneficial not only for the manufacturer but also for the end customer. The part to be cut will be of a specific shape and will require thorough dimensional and shape control according to the attached drawing documentation. The proposed process parameters and cutting conditions will be experimentally verified. Their correct adjustment will be based on the evaluation of the cutting quality and the techno-economic evaluation. The achieved surface quality will be evaluated in terms of selected surface integrity parameters (roughness, dimensional and shape accuracy) and defects arising after thermal and mechanical cutting of the material. The design of appropriate technology and parameters (post-processing) to ensure the desired degree of quality of the cut part will also be incorporated into the project objective.
This project is co-funded by the European Union.
